1 Warmup

Activity: Conversing

After learning about cell structure, students should recall that DNA is located in nucleus. This can be a platform to introduce the concept of cloning (via dinosaurs in Jurassic Park (fake), dead dogs in Korea (real), etc).

Warmup -> Discussion on how cloning may work -> the structure and role of DNA.

2 Video and Explanation

Watch video once to enjoy and watch again to try to understand concepts. Give guiding question(s) for their notes as they watch the video and discuss concepts after viewing.

3 Conclusion

Give students a chance to explain the structure and function of DNA and come up with examples when DNA could be used (forensics, cloning, etc). Have students use electronic devices for an interactive review session.

Discuss and close with how DNA is used and its role in everyday life.
