1 Hook

-Teacher will instruct students to view and explore the blendspace on division strategies first as a front-loading tool. 

Student Instructions

-View and explore the blendspace on Division for front-loading. 

-Try to solve the division problems with the strategies you see in the blendspace. 

2 Direct Instruction

Activity: Presenting

-Teacher will use whole-group instruction to present ONE of the divison strategies from the blendspace. 

-Teacher will use the I-do, We-do, You-do process of presenting information. 

3 Guided Practice

Activity: Investigating

-Teacher will assign practice probelms from the re-teaching section of the math workbook. 

-Students will work with a partner to complete the practice problems.

-Teacher will monitor and work with each group.

Student Instructions

-Find a partner and complete R10-2 in your math workbook. You may refer back to the blendspace for help. 


4 Independent Practice

Activity: Investigating

-Teacher will assign 5 divison problems for students to complete.


-Teacher will monitor classroom and work with students individually. 

Student Instructions

- Solve the 5 division problems on the board. Be sure to show all of your work. 

5 Wrap-Up

-Teacher will instruct students to create an Educreation where they create and solve a division problem with the strategy taught.

-On your iPad, pull up EduCreations

- In EduCreations create  division problem and solve it using the strategy that we learned today. 

- As you create your EduCreation, walk us through step-by-step.
