Digital Citizenship Summer Parent/Child Initiative

This program describes how to create Google Classrooms for students and parents to go through modules of Digital Citizenship at home together to foster healthier relationships with the internet and each other.

1 Create Google Classrooms for your district with a training domain

Teacher must create Google Classrooms to be assigned to grade levels.

Student Instructions

Students must join Google Classroom for their assigned grade.

2 Aggregate materials

Teacher should pull apart lessons, games, and interactives from the Scope and Sequence for short lesson components to be added by grade level Google Classroom

Student Instructions

Students should look over content, view movies, etc. 

3 Follow-Up

Create Google Forms to help follow up with the information presented

Student Instructions

Answer the questions on the Google forms to help address whether you have mastered the content

4 Acceptable Use Policy

Activity: Reading

Share with the group the school Accessible Use Policy and create a Google form for them to check in with understanding.  Differentiate for grade level

Student Instructions

Take the Google Form of questions about the content.

5 Family Time

Activity: Assessing

Write some discussion questions for parents and kids to talk about.

Student Instructions

Assess with your family whether you all have good computer and internet habits, or not.  If not, discuss how to improve them.
