Digital Citizenship Project in Middle School Science
The teacher will present a sample of professional portfolio webpages for students to analyze.
Students will brainstorm what makes the webpages professional or not. What is missing from them, if anything?
2 Direct Instruction
This step is where the teacher provides instructions for the activity and goes over the rubric.
Students will review the rubric and ask questions about the activity if they have any.
3 Guided/Independent Practice
Students will chose a template from wix and create a portfolio page to display their lab data and results for one lab from each marking period. This will replace a lab notebook. They will include copies of lab writeups, student reflections and interviews, additional related resources, a lb redesign if necessary, etc.
Students will use the portfolio to display their lab results from 1 lab in each marking period. This is in place of a lab notebook.
