1 Define digital citizenship

Activity: Presenting

Teacher describes digital citizenship and asks students if they have heard of it before. What do they think it means? Work as a class to come up with a definition. 

2 Describe different parts of digital citizenship

Activity: Investigating

Work as a class to come up with 5 characteristics of a good digital citizen. Define the characteristics and give examples as you go. 

1. Fair use/Copyright

2. Internet safety

3. Cyber bullying

4. Plagiarism

5. Privacy

3 Create your digital citizen

Activity: Drawing

Pass out drawing template and coloring supplies to students. Work with them as they create their citizens. Have students present their creations once they are done. 

Student Instructions

Use the drawing template and coloring supplies to create an ideal digital citizen. Present your creation once the class is finished.

4 Review

Activity: Conversing

Review the characteristics and definition of digital citizenship. Remind students of ways to keep safe online.
