Digital Animal Research Projects
The class will watch several videos to build excitement and background knowledge for the upcoming project.
2 Direct Instruction
The teacher will be demonstrating how the students will take notes digitally.
Creating a doc- Students will be shown how to create and share a doc in Google Drive that they will use for their notes throughout the project.
Adding to the doc- Here students will be shown how to add not only text but pictures as well to their notes.
Sharing the doc- The doc will be shared with the teacher to monitor students progress as they work through the project. The doc can also be shared with other students to help build collaboration among the class.
3 Guided Practice
Students will research the animal they have chosen for their project. They will use Britannica School to find pictures and facts that will be used in their digital presentation.
They will be transferring these notes and pictures to their Google doc for easy access later.
This is just one online resource that can be used to find facts and pictures for the research project.
4 Independent Practice
Students will take their research and transform it into a digital presentation. In Educreations they will be able to build slides containing facts and pictures they found during their research. They will also be able to add their own voice to their presenation.
Students will post a link to their presenatation on Edmodo. Students will also be able to view everyones presenations and learn more about what their classmates researched. Students will also take their links and create QR codes that will be displayed in the classroom.
