Developing Original Product and Advertising
Students will be excited about creating their own digital images/designs using the Autodesk Digital STEAM Visual Design app. They will be given a demonstration, via SMART board, on the capabilities of this digital editing app.
2 Direct Instruction
In addition to getting a SMART board demonstration on digital editing, students will also learn about photography. They will be given a demonstration on the PICS Art app and digital camera settings. Students will use the digital cameras and editing to enhance their original product designs and advertisements.
3 Guided Practice
Students will be able to use the digital editing software and cameras to create design images. These images will be used (such as in a real world setting) along with the free images on the flickr app. Students will combine their own digitally altered/created images with real photography images to create an original advertisement. Students will be able to submit their photo ideas, for review, and create a slideshow of ideas.
4 Independent Practice
Students will create a story about the process of their original product design and advertisement. They will use the imovie app for telling their original product design and advertisement development story.
Students will present their imovie, to their peers, in class. They will answer any questions, that others have, about their creative process. Students will be given examples of constructive criticism and be encourage to give each other constructive criticism. They will learn to use, what I call, criticism etiquette. They must ask questions and give responses in a positive and productive way.
