1 Teaching Point

I will use Digital Hearthbreak game on Digital Compass for students to explore how cyberbullying works. I will also create a chart and record students’ responses on cyberbullying vs bullying.

Student Instructions

I will teach students how to use the site and how to start it. 

Questions will be:

What did you learned from the game?

Have you ever being the victim of cyber-bullying or bullying?

Please provide examples of cyber-bullying and bullying?

2 Warm up

Students will be ask to describe what it means to make smart or brave choices. they will write it on google doc and share their responses.

I will provide them with the definition of bullying and cyber-bullying.

Student Instructions

Sample responses: • Standing up for the target • Empathizing with the target • Getting help from a trusted adult.

3 Guided Teaching

The students will take the info found in the last step and add it to an interactive graphic organizer from this site.  I model how to fill one out and save it.  once the kids are finished with the organizer,  it will be shared with classmates.
