1 Hook/Attention Getter

Free, Paid

Give 7 examples of cyber bullying and have each youth respond based on prior knowledge.

Computers will be set and ready for youth as they enter the classroom; ready for the Kahoot Activity

Start Survey - instructor will read each question aloud to youth and wait for responses to be recorded.

Student Instructions

Each youth will be seated and get ready for the Kahoot survey.

Youth will begin to answer survey questions.

2 Direct Instruction

Activity: Conversing

Present youth with handouts

Give youth ample time to read information provided

Ask youth to discuss what information they read;

1. points of interest 

2. facts unknown

3. personal examples and effects

4. solutions


Student Instructions

Participate in group discussions and problem solving.

3 Guided Practice

Activity: Creating

Discuss with youth and create a list of warning signs and possible solutions regarding cyber bullying on chart paper.

Student Instructions

youth will participate in group discussion 

each youth will be given the opportunity to add to the list of warning signs

4 Independent Practice

Activity: Creating

Each youth is to create an essay in regards to cyber bullying and draw information and conclusions from prior content.

Students will use Storybird to post final draft

Final drafts will be shared with teachers/staff

Student Instructions

Write an essay "cyber bullying" and include an introductory paragraph and draw conclusions from the group discussion and examples. Give specific examples.

Transfer draft to storybird and publish final draft

5 Wrap Up

Free, Paid

Deliver the survey questions in survey mode 

After completion of questions review results and compare to original survey done at the beginning of the lesson.

This step will measure comprehension and retention of content.

Student Instructions

Each youth will be seated and participate in the Kahoot survey.
