1 Hook

Activity: Exploring

Students explore the infographic Copyright Myths vs. Facts to check for what they know or assume to know about thre topic.

2 Direct Instruction

Students explore the following blog post containing:

  • Infographic: Internet Copyright Infringement: 5 Myths vs. Facts
  • Video: A student's basic guide to copyright, Creative Commons and public domain

They will also explore the following video: Copyright and Fair Use animation

3 Guided Practice

Students will add at least one OER website to a shared list on Storify which all the class will have access to.

4 Independent Practice

Free to Try, Paid

Students will have the opportunity to create a blog post explaining what they have learned, using OER and providing links to sites where they can find OER.

5 Wrap-Up

Students will post what they learned from the lesson posting tweets following the class hashtag. They will be able to reflect and recap on what they learned.
