1 Hook

Bring up the Flocabulary website and show the students a video on the vocabulary of drama. 

Student Instructions

While the video is playing there will be a worksheet provided with the words that will be encountered in video. The students will then use annotative language (e.g. !, ?, *) to show words they are familiar with or do not know.

2 Direct Instruction

Teacher will clarify any defintions of words that students have been having difficulty with while providing examples via youtube and other media websites.

Student Instructions

Students will write personalized definitions based on their understanding of the material being covered.

3 Guided Practice

The teacher will facilitate by walking around the room and monitoring for students who are having difficulty with the task and clarifying.

Student Instructions

The students will be given a variety of videos where it will be their job to show their understanding of the vocabulary words that have been addressed by watching clips from famous movies and writing their evaluation on a sheet of paper.

4 Independent Practice

The teacher will facilitate the student's learning by moving around the room and assisting the students who need assistance.

Student Instructions

Students will use Powtoon and create their own short film. During this they will show their understanding of the material by clarifying the plot, characters, etc. throughout the short presentation.

5 Wrap Up

Student Instructions

Students will take a post-it note and write down a thought, concern, or joy that they had when creating their projects. They will then attach the post-it to a white sheet of paper on the wall for teacher evaluation.
