1 Hook/Attention Getter

Activity: Investigating

The students will be completing a scavenger hunt within the classmates. The teacher should collect "fun facts" about each student and randomize them in a basket. They students will, then, draw a fact. Moving around the room, the students will need to find the owners of the questions.

2 Direct Instruction/Guided Practice

Google Drive
Free, Paid

The students will format the interview questions using Google Docs in Google Drive. The students will need to create, at least, ten (10) questions to ask a classmate. These questions should be meaningful and relevant to composing a solid biography. The students will take class time to interview a partner, compose a biography and prepare for digital formatting.

3 Integration of Technology

Students will use iPads and the app: Aurasma to create the video biography. Students will record and catalog the biography within Aurasma. Students will, also, need to take a picture to accompany the biography.

Students will take the time to scan the biographies of their classmates. They will make two columns on their Google Drive: things I learned/things I still want to know.  They will need to view five (5) classmates biographies using iPads or Smart Phones.

4 Wrap Up/Reflection

The students will complete a written essay describing information they learned about their classmates through Aurasma and the biographies. The students will submit through Google Drive and use this as an editing tool. The writing responses will also be submitted to turnitin.com for additional editing.
