1 Direct Instruction

The teacher will make a blendspace that will contain fiction and nonfiction information about caterpillars to use throughout the life cycle unit.  In this blendspace the teacher will make an Edpuzzle using the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar to locate facts about caterpillars.  The teacher will explain that fiction books contain facts and the student has to distinguish between important and unimportant information while reading the book.


Student Instructions

As the student is watching the Edpuzzle they will answer the questions in their reading response journal.

2 Closure

The teacher will assist students with their pic collage as needed.

The student will create an informationl pic collage containing the facts they learned from the book.
