1 Hook

Plagiarism: Don't Do It: Video detailing steps of what plagiarism and how to avoid it.

The most common mistake students make at the very beginning is cut and pasting their information and not documenting their sources throughout the paper. This will be lay the foundation of the paper and describe in detail exactly what plagiarism and how to avoid it.

2 Direct Instruction

Since my students tend to do a majority of their work at home, students will create their own dropbox. All my students will be in a dropbox folder in my dropbox where I can have them submit their research papers for review. This addition will allow them to learn another form of cloud storage.
I will present dropbox and its features to the entire class, showing them how to set an account up and how to use this storage for other things.
I will also drop handouts and various source documents and worksheets for this activity.

3 Guided Practice

4 Independent Practice

Activity: Creating

Google Docs: Will be used to create the actual research paper, then dropped into dropbox. ROUGH DRAFT FIRST

5 Wrap-Up

Activity: Assessing

Research papers without names will be dropped into various students' dropbox so that they may edit and proofread other students' work. They will also be exposing themselves to the way others write and be given an opportunity to make changes to their own work.
