How I Use It
I used it previously as an alternate tool for students to present their work. This was really motivating for some of the usually disengaged students. They would pay so much extra attention to detail, unlike their usual classroom work. This year we are trialling Minecraft: Education Edition, and incorporating it as part of our Government unit. Usually I run a gamified classroom, creating a fictional world and running parliament. This year, we are using Minecraft to add an additional layer of a virtual world. Students are always talking about it, whether it's about trade, issues or even upcoming elections/referendums.
It is an excellent tool to add to the digital learning kit. Whilst it is still relatively a new product, Microsoft seem to be updating it regularly and there are numerous resources shared on their website by educators all around the world.
