How I Use It
GoNoodle is a great tool to use for "Brain Breaks" with your classroom. Especially at the elementary level, students need to have brain breaks throughout the day. These breaks will help re-energize and refocus students on the lesson or learning activity. GoNoodle provides a huge variety of different videos that teachers can use for brain breaks throughout the day. These videos are energizing, active, exciting, and silly. All of which, makes students enjoy them even more! A nice feature that GoNoodle has is the class avatar. Each class can choose an avatar, that will grow as they complete brain breaks. The growing avatar is another element that really gets students excited to complete brain breaks. This tool is definitely geared to the elementary grades. It provides short videos that engage students in re-energizing activities.
My Take
This is an awesome product to use for "Brain Breaks" with elementary classes. I really like how there are 12 different categories of videos, allowing the teacher to search for a brain break that will work best with his/her group of students. I also like how a teacher can add favorite videos to a playlist, for fast and easy access. The only thing to be cautious of is the silliness of some videos. I suggest that the teacher previews each video to make sure that it will serve as a true brain break for students, and not side-track them or create chaos within the classroom. However, overall GoNoodle is a must have product for all elementary school teachers that utilize brain breaks with their class.
