How I Use It
Geo Guessr is used in my class as a thing to do if students finish early. Students use Geo Guessr with Google Earth or Maps to help them zero in on their location once they have found a sign or other clue. It beats them flying through Google Earth looking at theirs and friends houses but isn't an activity that stands on it's own.
My Take
Geo Guessr gives students that like flying around Google Earth something better to do. The best part about seeing students use the site is the inferences they make. Students will see Spanish language signs and automatically assume mexico or South America but forget Spain, they also look at vegetation, geographical features types of cars, peoples dress (when people are around) Geo Guessr is best when it gives the user a somewhat inhabited place, but too often you end up on a desolate road in the middle of nowhere.Fun but a short activity.
