How I Use It
I used this as a way to break up time on a block period day. Students learned about the immune system in a guided note taking lesson. Then students played code- fred before completing another activity. Students enjoyed themselves. Students who are game players may breeze through the activity where as other students will need more time to complete the game. I originally planned for students to complete questions during the game but students were having so much fun they forgot to answer the questions and did not remember the answers.
If I could improve the game, I would include an information session between each of the levels. Students could click on information and learn more about the systems involved in the game. Students did enjoy the game and had fun in class. It was a good computer game to connect information to real life scenarios.
