On the eve of the annual CUE conference, Literacy 2.0 spoke with Glen Warren about the current state of digital literacy in education, the role of librarians in schools today, and what it will take to achieve significant progress in advancing the new literacies. Being an expert in technology integration and library science, Glen Warren is passionate about digital literacy in education and straddles the worlds of the classroom, library, and technology information.

When asked what our nation’s current Information Literacy Report Card looks like Glen responded with, “It says we are far below the curve. It says information illiteracy is a national pandemic. We have an educational system right now that is not keeping up with the technology or the information. Our schools are still teaching kids what to learn, not how to learn.”
