Socrative is a powerful student response system that helps support responsive teaching. Create custom quizzes to gauge student learning by seeing instant responses, or give students instant access to peer ideas. Socrative is one of the most highly reviewed tools by our teacher members, so that's where we turned our attention for this month's Appy Hour.
Hosting this month's Appy Hour is Common Sense Media regional manager Louisa Sullivan, who is based in New York City. Louisa's first guest is Eileen Heller, District IT Trainer for Omaha Public Schools/ESU 19. She trains educators on many platforms, including how to use Socrative in the classroom. In this webinar, she walks the viewer through the key features and functionality of Socrative. According to Eileen, "some reasons to use Socrative are that it is easy to use, gives immediate feedback, and creating custom quizzes is a breeze".
Our second guest is Amanda Xavier, a 6th grade ELA classroom teacher based in Brooklyn, New York who has been using Socrative for a year. Amanda believes that Socrative is best for multiple choice questions and for polling the class.
