How I Use It
This program is good for,the learner that needs to practice words over and over to get an understanding about how the letters work together to make a word. Since it does not track individual progress (however it does have different levels the student can pick), it is something that the child has to start over each time it is played. This app would work good as a class review of words. Depending on the level, the students match the letters to spell the word or to place it on the correct empty box. Many of the words used are the dolch words, however there are a few words that seem out of place due to the difficulty of the word. The slower learner enjoyed the repetition and felt very successful while playing it, however the student that needed challenging lost interest in the program before it got hard enough for them to be challenged.
I liked the program. It had wonderful graphics and the kids enjoyed playing the game. They are learning while playing the game, but many times they were just pushing the tiles to the correct letter ( which is perfect for the preschooler or the slow learner). The game accepted the tiles out of order but it didn't accept the incorrect placement of the letter. I was disappointed that it doesn't track the students progress or allow the teacher to customize the program for each earners needs.
