How I Use It
Wonderbox is an amazing educational app that I use in my classroom and at home with my own children. This free app is available on the App Store for iPhones and iPads. Initially, I had downloaded this app on my iPhone for my daughter to enjoy. I was immediately impressed by the security and privacy features that were provided in this app. In Wonderbox, parents create a family account and add their children to this account. This feature allows me to receive emails displaying portfolios of my child's work, monitor their activity and track their progress along the way.
As an educator, I added the WonderboxEdu beta app to our class iPad. The new classroom version of this app provides me with the same security and monitoring benefits while also allowing me to assign activities to my students. I can create assignments from scratch or choose from a variety of multimedia assignments aligned to Common Core curriculum. These activities tie in nicely with my instruction and allow me to provide students with opportunities to extend their learning in a more creative and fun way. I also like the motivational gamification strategies that are applied to both versions of the Wonderbox app. This app allows students to create their own avatars, complete challenges and earn points and rewards for completed challenges. I absolutely love this app and I highly recommend it as an educator and a parent.
Wonderbox is one of the best educational apps for inspiring creativity and imagination. Students can explore, create and share topics that include: science, design, language, geography and sports. Teachers can assign challenges that inspire creative exploration of topics while motivating students to imagine and create. This app has allowed me to provide my students with more engaging ways to learn and express their creativity. I love the fact that Wonderbox provides students with learning opportunities that are motivating, enjoyable and relevant for 21st century learners.
