How I Use It
I have used TouchCast to document attendance at conferencse and included VAPPS (video apps-the touchable links within a TouchCast) for different websites of interest, included maps, poll questions, twitter feed, and more. Students use it to present reports and add VAPPS that direct the viewer to websites and resources. The students have also used it for segments for our morning announcements. It makes the production look like a real TV studio complete with lower thirds (TITLES) for the anchors names. It includes studio backgrounds and also works great for the weather segments!
This is an amazing tool and the fact that it is completely FREE is amazing. I like that the students become the content creators for their projects and work. Teachers who are flipping their classrooms will find this an excellent tool with the whiteboard, blackboard features, and the ability to insert videos. Developers are continuing to develop this product and it can now be used on a PC. They are also working on a MAC version.
