How I Use It
This app is great for teaching students about story structure in a fun and interactive way. When you first open the app it takes you to the creation page which explains what a story arc is and how to use it when building your own stories. The categories are, Setup, Conflict, Challenge, Climax, and Resolution. Students can change the order of these categories and also add scenes. There is also teaching about setting, characters, and emotional energy of music.
My Take
I think this is a fantastic creation tool for teachers and students. It is a fun way to teach students about the parts of a story, and also to reinforce those concepts with students. There is an abundance of characters and settings to choose from so no two stories would ever have to be alike. I also like that it breaks scenes down into parts for students to work on over time. I like that students are not required to use all parts of the story arc, which is useful when using this app for other purposes besides story telling, such as presentation of a topic. Students can record their own narration and animate the characters. Great for working individually or in a group! Great app!
