How I Use It
I have used this app with small groups of kindergarten students to have them create and tell stories about dinosaurs during a unit on that topic. Students learned about the app, then created storyboards, and then applied those storyboards to the app, working step-by-step to design, animate, and narrate digital stories that integrated facts they had learned as well as their own imaginative ideas about dinosaurs. The students learned about the parts of a story and the power of music to set a tone in a story. They also loved being able to share the stories with their parents and families when we posted them online.
My Take
Students can use this app in a variety of ways to tell stories about topics they are studying in school or simply create imaginary tales that can be easily shared and animated. The app walks children through the process of creating a story, including the setup, climax, and resolution but it also provides flexibility for students to add additional story parts and integrate their own ideas/story concepts by inserting photos or pictures and drawing their own characters. The All-Access Pass is really a wonderful resource for students and teachers to create digital stories.
