Teacher Review for Sushi Monster

Highly engaging, but lacks support for students who are not successful.

How I Use It
I use this app to have students practice addition or multiplication facts. They certainly enjoy it, but it is used as a way to practice facts instead of apply strategies to consistently be successful. I like that the number sentence is displayed when they choose how to reach the target number. It doesn't promote anything but fact fluency, although that is an important skill to practice in the classroom or at home.
My Take
It is very engaging and simple to use, but there is no teaching included. If students miss it, they just don't proceed to the next level. I am impressed with the quality of the app and that it is free, but it doesn't track the kinds of mistakes they make or provide strategies to help them be more successful.
