How I Use It
The program is used in a variety of ways. It is used as a small group Center where students take turns and also as an individual spelling practice for struggling learners. There are times when we divide the class into teams and use the games to introduce new words in a friendly competition! Because not all of our students have access to the Internet outside of school, using the program as a mandatory homework assignment is not an option. I would encourage parents who do have Internet access to play the spelling games with their children in order to reinforce learning.
I like the program because it engages the student and gives them a challenging way to practice their spelling and vocabulary. It is also useful in that the students who have access to PC's at home can use it as a study tool. Because it can be used at home, it gives parents an opportunity to observe first hand the spelling strengths and weaknesses of their student which in turn allows them to be more proactive in helping overcome those weaknesses.
