How I Use It
I will be using this app in my AP Psychology class during our unit on States of Consciousness and I will continue use of it when we get to Motivation, Emotion, and Stress. So far, I have had multiple students test-drive the app, and they love it. The modules on various methods of meditation are easy to use and vary in time from 5 to approximately 15 minutes.
As a teaching tool in a course that deals with stress and consciousness, Smiling Mind is great. It definitely has potential for use with students who have emotional and behavioral disorders too as a means of calming and refocusing their minds on something more positive. In terms of applications in a regular classroom with other academic subjects, I am not sure that it has much application.
