How I Use It
Student use Showme to create tutorials on how to solve math problems. One example is when my students explained how to compare fractions using "The Butterfly Method". They can then take the tutorials and share them online via Facebook, Twitter, or any website. I like how students can pause their recordings and add (or delete) photos that can be drawn on while they are recording.
This is a great tool for reinforcement of skills or for creating tutorials. Some videos may be as short as 2 minutes or as long as 20, it is up to the students. I also have found that students have understood concepts better when students explained them than when I might have explained them. I also like that it can help students that are shy explain something in private which can be shared publically without having to be in front of the room or standing up.
