How I Use It
This app is a simple, yet engaging, way to guide students through a breathing exercise. I think it is most effective one-on-one, not as a whole class activity. I think it is a great idea to have the app loaded on the iPad and direct students to it when they need a break, need to calm down, or to help them do some deep breathing before starting a new task. The company makes a similar app called Breathing Bubbles, but Settle Your Glitter is more visually appealing.
My Take
I look forward to using this with my students. I think it will be great for all children, but especially those who struggle with identifying and controlling their emotions. I tested this app when I was running iOS 8. However, it is currently not working properly with iOS 9 (as of November 1, 2015) so I am waiting for the app to be updated to load it onto my students' iPads.
