How I Use It
To find one learning platform that gives both the power of learning into the student's hands and supports a teacher to scaffold and differentiate the learning RARE! But with Seesaw this is done seamlessly! I found that my students were content creators, not just consumers. They wanted to showcase their learning but were able to become highly reflective and could communicate this without any 'adult' supervision. Students can actually take control of the learning. The advantages it has for a working in multiple modes in ONE app is incredible - voice, video, print, pictures and drawing - what other app does all that and does not require additional support to create. Has an extensive library of ready made resources that can be adapted and changed to suit any learner. It is also a brilliant communication tool for families and works on any device and is flawless in design no matter what you choose to use (includes the web).
My Take
Love this is an understatement. So much more to add (see above) but you'll just need to get it and try it for yourself. Thanks to the developers for listening to feedback from all stakeholders concerned - especially our students. At this time of COVID-19 the creators/developers have also been so incredibly gracious and kind to educators, families and students - why wouldn't you want to support them?! Very little to critique because they are in constant learning mode themselves. The tool shows growth and this comes from understanding their stakeholders and the changes in the learning landscape. Excellent models for PD and a huge library of video on Youtube to help you learn how to use the tools. It is super safe to use and keeps the learning documented from early years to highschool (if your school decides to keep it) - phenomenal tool and learning platform in my view.
