How I Use It
This tool is marketed as a timeline tool, but it is not limited to just timelines. I will have students use it as a formative assessment tool to list the steps in the engineering and design process, the writing process, and story maps. Of course it will also be fantastic for historical timelines, too. My intermediate students enjoy the option of choosing an avatar and I like that I can either check the camera role or have them send the PDF to me via their school email account in order to view it.
My overall opinion is positive. It is limited in styles, but I think the ease of use and ability to create a timeline by date, time, or event outweighs this con. The ability to edit and move items around until satisfied is also a great feature. Students save their drafts and can receive peer or teacher critique before saving the final as a PDF. Finally, having a second page along with the timeline itself that lists the items on the timeline and their descriptions, if any were added, is very helpful for understanding timelines without the creator being present.
