How I Use It
Quizlet helps you make digital index cards for studying purposes. I use Quizlet to help students study for exams. I make different card decks for each unit based on the unit vocabulary and share the links on my Google Classroom. Making the decks and sharing is easy; you can share the decks either by creating a class and inviting your kids to the class, or by using the shareable link they provide and sharing that with students. It does take a little set up time to make the decks, but the interface for the creation of the cards is very intuitive and easy to use. I have not had students make their own decks, but I would think that wouldn't be too difficult to do.
This is a great tool to replace the old index card method. I used to ask students to make index cards, and it was difficult to buy them into that process. Quizlet gamifies the studying process, allowing students to play different games and compete with each other to get the highest score. I've seen increased test scores on multiple choice assessments from students who use the regularly. Students LOVE it, I think partially because there are a lot of choices. It is easy to differentiate because there are different games, and some games are harder than others. Overall, this is a great practice/study tool.
