How I Use It
I have used Quizlet with my foreign language classes to create cards and also to share in some of the public cards available to provide supplemental resources for them to practice verbs and vocabulary. Students have a lot of options for activities they can do, and learning a foreign languages requires that they continue to practice the 4 skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing and Quizlet really helps them to achieve this. Another benefit is that students can create their own sets, which I have assigned as homework, which allows for even more differentiation and personalization. There are more options available now for using the cards, for tracking student progress and involving students more in learning.
it is a great way to introduce, reinforce and support vocabulary building, and is applicable to any content area at any level. Students can select from many choices for how to practice with flashcards, audio, games like Scatter and Gravity, listen to audio, take tests and more. It is very helpful to have students create their own sets and share with the class, in order to build the resources for all students. it also is a good way for teachers to track student progress, to learn what areas the students are practicing or need to have more practice with. It makes learning verbs and vocabulary, or any content topic, more fun and engaging and personalized.
