How I Use It
I use a checklist that reads like a rubric so that students have a guide to follow and can focus more on content and less on endless design elements. Also, students collaborate on the prezi, and take on different roles that correspond to the different sections such as history of X, modern applications of X, etc. That way, students create Prezis in teams resulting in a much more valuable learning experience.
Prezi has a lot of templates and features that are easily available on their website. Once students have started their Prezi, waded through the template, font, and color options, they can begin using the app on an iPad. Doing so removes some of the 'heavy lifting' which is more easily accomplished on a laptop or desktop computer. As with any presentation tool, content is key. Students who make beautiful Prezis must also make them centered around the essential questions and be able to show what they have learned.
