How I Use It

This tool can be used in all academic areas. I am currently using it for my 3rd grade class in character work. The book title is the first popplet created. As characters are introduced in the book, students will connect them from the title to a new popplet with the character. From there, students will use the comment section for discriptions of the character, both physical and character traits. In these sections, lower level students may add a single word as a description where higher students may write a sentence to a paragraph in the description of the character. this also helps in tracking s\characters and when they were first introduced in the book

My Take

I first modeled the tool with a beginning of the school year book. Next we did it as a class in our next book and finally students could do this on their independent books. The tool is very useful and students can really see the progression of the book, however, when accessing the videos some issues arrived where videos had writing such as "bitch" and other more offensive words that made this tool difficult to continue to use. Until there is a way to block this i fear I will be unable to continue using this tool which is a shame because it really is a nice piece of tech for students.
