How I Use It
This week I had a class of 19 first graders using the Pic Collage iPad app to create collages from shape photos they had taken the day before. Students opened the app, imported photos, resized, rotated, and rearranged photos, all within 15 minutes! From there, students practiced their typing, capitalization, and spelling skills as they typed a title of their collage, their name, and labels for each photos. We even had enough time to add a smiley-face sticker to their collage, show a job well done! Students then saved their collages to the iPad camera roll where I then transferred them to Dropbox to print and share.
This app is amazing! It's easy to use and the graphics are simple, even for non-readers. If 19 six-year-olds can use this app for content creation, you know it's good! Even if you didn't use photos, students could use the text feature to practice spelling words, write poetry, describe stickers... the options are endless! All collages can be saved to the device's Camera Roll, allowing images to be shared via email or Dropbox. It's a fantastic app with a multitude of uses. Highly recommend!
