How I Use It
I use SWAY as an option for students to archive their learning throughout inquiries. They can add in documents, presentations, images, videos and social media posts. It brings in tweets as interactive objects where links and images can still be accessed. It is very helpful for students to be able to archive the process when they are doing student-driven work (where all students are working through different methods and topics). They can share their SWAY throughout the process so that I (the teacher) can check in and see how they are doing at any time. At the end, it can be used to present their learning. Part of student inquiries is often connecting with others through social media and creating video reflections or pitches.
SWAY could be used by teachers to share information and lessons as well as for documenting student-driven work. There are some glitches or things that act funny such as limitations on text sizing and color. The iOS app has a few features that are missing that are available on the website version, but this is improving over time.
