How I Use It
I used this application to present a cross curricular metaphor/simile presentation that incorporated English, art, and music. Throughout the presentation I was able to ask questions (short answer, multiple, choice, poll, and drawing) to get quick formative feed back to measure students understanding. One thing I have discovered that I wish I could do is place text on top of images and manipulate the content a bit more within the slides. This app can be done throughout the class period, as a warmup, new content presentation, or for a wrap up activity.
Nearpod is a fantastic site that is easy to use! The site can be used for presentation purposes or as formative assessments. I love how you can change from live view and student paced views depending on how you want the content paced. The site is user friendly and has a lot of support for teachers as they learn how to navigate the site for the first time. The overall quality of the presentation is dependent on the creator. Depending on the depth of the content and the variety of slides and imagery used the presentation can have a lot of meaning and depth.
