How I Use It
Nearpod allowed me to have control of the lesson in the classroom while being able to focus all mom my students on the content. Pre-built lessons, or ones the user builds themselves, can be paced by the teacher and keep students from working ahead or falling behind. The tools for assessment built into Nearpod make it extremely easy for any teacher to track their students' progress through the lesson. I used Nearpod most when delivering Digital Citizenship content from Common Sense Education via their pre-built lessons. This allowed me to have specific data to show what the students were able to understand and grasp from the lesson and then use that information for followup in the future.
My Take
Nearpod is great for any classroom where technology is available. If you are BYOD or 1:1 or just have a cart of devices to check out or a computer lab to reserve; Nearpod can work for you. It is easy to setup and easy to invite students into the session for the lesson of the day with the PIN's Nearpod creates for each lesson. The reports it prepares following a lesson provide amazing information for teachers to be used for assessment purposes. Student like the easy to use interface and I loved it's ease of use and setup.
