How I Use It
I used Nearpod to assess learning and review a previously taught subject. I work in a school where devices are one to one and student are able to take them home as well. I was able to easily upload a powerpoint and add stop points along the way. I was also able to create an activity previously unattainable with out the technology. My students were all able to participate in real time and share their thought, and they were given immediate feedback. My students were engaged and liked the feature of me being able to share their answers. We did find out through trouble shooting that if a student entered an answer and it was either incomplete or they didn't like what they posted they can exit the presentation and re-enter with the code.
I think this was the best way to assess my student's learning. I Nearpod made it easy to collect data and have it already scored for me. The features of Nearpod help me to rise up the SAMR ladder creating activities otherwise unconvinced. This tool has allowed me to monitor all students participation and ease my grading that I have to do. One way it could serve teachers better is to have a presentation mode that is split screen with the results screen.
