How I Use It
I use Nearpod all the time. It has replaced all my overheads, Powerpoints, etc as a means of teaching. Instead individual students or pairs use an iPad to have the lesson right in their lap. I really like that I can embed activities, questions, and video right in the lesson without having to call on only a couple students or switch to a different place to get a video. It also helps keep my students on task because they know that they are all accountable for responding. I like that I can see their responses immediately as well as later. Usually I have students all work on the same presentation but a few times I had leveled presentations so students of different abilities accessed different versions of the same content.
I also love the variety of activities I can ask students to do--multiple choice, draw, free response, etc. Creating a presentation is easy to do and easy to share. It's also easy to run presentations either live or as homework (self-paced). It would be helpful to have more 2nd grade pre-created content.
