How I Use It
As soon as students enter the classroom, they are expected to begin their Warm Up. Oftentimes, students would continue their conversation outside of the hallway and bring it into the classroom instead of starting their Warm Up. Nearpod gets them excited and interested in completing their Warm Up right away. What student doesn't enjoy taking out and using their cell phone in school?! Students type their answers to their Warm Up question and it gives me, as the teacher, immediate feedback on student answers and what common mistakes are being made. Those students that do not have access to a device, simply keep their answers on a sheet of paper in their notebooks.
My Take
I love the immediate feedback and the immediate engagement for students. It gets my class going and the students are excited to begin the lesson. I hope to expand my use of this product in the very near future. Many students have the capabilities of using the product with the diverse platforms it uses. Unfortunately, changing and creating lessons is not as user friendly as it could be.
