How I Use It
I love Nearpod! I use it generally to introduce big units of study. I like creating guided research "portals" where kids can search sites, video, and pdfs of my choosing. It's fun to leave voice memos for struggling students too.
Great for pre and post assessments. Great for informal assessments.
This is a fantastic tool. Besides that, my only comment is that it takes a long time to prep presentations! That's the biggest hurdle to overcome. If more presentations were already crafted, aligned, and available to the teacher to tweak, aligned to standards as well, that would be huge. I have not tried to modify a pre-made presentation yet, so this may be possible.
This is not the fault of Nearpod itself, but many students have a difficult time taking these assessments slides seriously at an early age. It is also a little hard to navigate between the quizzes and slide content, if you want to make that option available to the students.
