How I Use It
Right now I use this individually to get students who are hard to engage interested in in the game and thinking. In the future I plan to pursue approval to run this as a club after school for the after school program or in school. Time is the enemy because it does take time to play and learn.
Minecraft is engaging and addictive for students. You can play in different modes that make the game totally a building/exploring experience or in a mode where you have to deal with characters that can take away your materials which I don't recommend for schools. Creative Mode seems to be the best way to use this in schools and rules need to be setup in advance for clubs or groups using Minecraft! But the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks for this wonderful game.
