How I Use It
If teachers do not have an interactive whiteboard in their classroom, this app could be used as one to create lessons/presentations. I have used it for students to show understanding - similar what used to be a "ticket out of class. It is a very simple whiteboard app without a lot of features so students can create presentations quickly and easily. Once they have created and recorded their diagram, labeled their drawing or shown their calculations, they can email their work to me with one touch. I can quickly see each student's level of understanding and adjust further lessons as necessary.
If students have 1-1 iPads or Android tablets, Lensoo Create is easy for students to use and they enjoy the whiteboard app to draw a diagram or label a picture. There is a very limited choice of backgrounds and tools to use, which for a quick assessment, is beneficial, although there are a variety of shapes, different colors to use for drawing and it is easy to move text boxes around on the screen. I do not use it for lesson presentations because there are other whiteboard tools that offer more options for effective teaching presentations. As a creation tool for an engaging formative assessment, students like using Lensoo Create and the ease of emailing their work to me, makes it an effective class tool.
