How I Use It
Unfortunately, this app offers little in the way of classroom usefulness, and will not be used in my classroom. While there is nothing inherently wrong with the counting and number recognition games found within the app, they are brief and unsophisticated. With only three very short games, a majority of the icons on the start page link to YouTube videos or other apps offered by the developer. While I do appreciate inclusion of numbers up to 25, the inability to specify a range of numbers to focus on eliminates all hope of differentiation.
My Take
I do not recommend this app for the classroom. The limited nature of Learn to Count is more suited for very occasional use by a parent attempting to placate an impatient preschooler while in line at the grocery store than a classroom tablet (hopefully) well stocked with higher quality math apps. Settings allowing the numbers featured to be designated, as well as an elimination of the video and external game links, would help this game, but probably not enough to make it classroom ready.
