How I Use It
This app has a very specific goal - to engage students in using mental math facts to solve multilevel puzzles. The design is simple yet addicting. Students will need to have a basic sense of addition to play it. There's no official multiplayer mode, but students can work together, and at times I will play this on the SmartBoard as a whole class.
This app has a singular focus, and it achieves it well. I use it as a reward for students as they accomplish their other tasks in class. Anytime you can engage students in mental math that is fun, that's a good tool to have in your repertoire. This is all about building procedural fluency, and that's an important Common Core Math Practice Standard.
