Teacher Review for iTooch 6th Grade | Math

iTooch is a great practice / assessment tool but don't get it thinking it is a game.

How I Use It
My daughter is a 6th grader so I thought I would let her give it a go. She was initially drawn to it but once she realized it was essentially a drill and practice app she lost interest. I do believe that if a teacher used the app to provide for some self paced practice or review of content it would be quite valuable.
My Take
The app serves as a great teaching tool in that it is well organized in terms of scope and sequence and provides a great deal of opportunities for self paced learning and extra practice. The characters and aesthetics in relation to the layout and design including font size and color makes it visually appealing. It has some gamelike elements but is certainly NOT a game. As long as the teacher using the apps doesn't try to pass it off as a game to students the app has great value inside and outside of the classroom.
