How I Use It
I have used iMovie in reading, science and social studies. In reading my students created book trailers after finishing their "book clubs" and then shared with the class. Since the whole class hadn't read the same book it created interest in other books. We also made a weekly news report to share with parents and other classrooms on the happenings at our school. In science and social studies they researched a topic and created a movie trailer about it to present.
iMovie has been my favorite app to use in my classroom because it is so adaptable, and has so many options. You can use pictures and video to make a simple video to one with many transitions and titles. Students were able to figure out how to use this app quickly, and were excited about creating something for peers to watch. I also love the share features in iMovie because it makes it simple to upload to You Tube, email it, or put it on your cloud. If you have any money to spend on apps this one is a great one!
